Saturday, March 8 - approx 1:00 AM (late Friday night)

Hey! Had four dear friends from KS arrive today to spend the weekend. what a joy! Where Dwight was not transferred to Craig, Joe chose to remain in KS this weekend to get caught up on some things around the house/yard that were piling up.

Karen from Craig came and did a second eval on Dwight today ... she was very pleased and even gave me insight into the fact that some of the meds Dwight is on for his stomach are probably effecting his comprehension/reaction of his brain! IF he remains medically stable this weekend he will transfer to Craig Rehab on Monday morning!!!!! PTL!!!!

Yesterday's cat scan revealed that the lacix was not successful in causing his body to absorb the fluid around the lungs (which they explained probably was caused from the body 'weeping' and trying to heal itself - thus a sympathetic infusion - could also been caused from lack of protein in his system) They drained 2 liters (think of it as a 2 liter pop) from around his left lung and 1 liter from around his right lung. The fluid around his bowel has decreased. The bottom lobe of his right lung is collapsed - caused 'probably' from the diaphram pressing on the fluid pressing it on the lung. They feel it will fix itself given time. It is not a threat at this time.

Don and Penny from CO Spgs were here and Penny was holding Dwight's right hand and he squeezed it 'tightly' ... such that she lifted her hand and he held on! PRAISE GOD .... this is PROGRESS in a great way!!!! He was very alert today and did well in PT ... in fact the therapist told him to push with his right leg as she did range of motion and HE DID!!!! We are SO encouraged and expect GREAT THINGS from our GOD .... Jehovah Raphah!!!! The God who heals!!!!!!!! Resting in HIM!!!!!!! joan for us 4
