Thursday evening, April
3 - approx 9:45 PM
Hello! Today was another
fairly good day. They thought he had bloodclots in his right
leg but the NIVA test resulted in everything normal. PTL!!!!
He was on the 'tilt' board -- looks like a stretcher that
they strap him to and it has a foot rest and they raise it up
to 90*. He was on it at 70* for 30 minutes today ... the PT
took off his 'mitt' and he reached down with that long arm and
attempted to undo the strap around his knees!!
He did not like the restraint! She would hold up a black cone
and a white cone and ask him to take 'say the black cone' ...
even though he had on the mitt he would put his hand around her
wrist and bring the cone to his chest. He was consistent with
the correct color 80% of the time. It was SO NEAT!! In OT/PT
this morning they sit him up and put him down on each elbow for
weight bearing. He also sat 'alone' for about 10 seconds - which
is AWESOME!! They also let him lay on his stomach and put him
'up' on his elbows with his head up and he tolerated this very
well also!! These little things are BIG things and are SOOOOOO
encouraging!!! I neglected to tell y'all that when they weighed
him last Saturday he had gained another 9/10 of a pound ....
a POUND in my book! This makes a
total of TWO .... only 45 more to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Carbs and
Protein will do it!!!!!!!!!!!!
He still is not swallowing on command nor moving his right arm/hand
to speak of. He is moving his right hand with his left and today
he was 'fondling' it and then he would look at me .... I reassured
him his right hand will get better!!!! It was like he "knew"
something just isn't right with his right hand and it troubled
him. The EMG is still scheduled for the 9th. THANX for praying!!
May God find us faithful!!! joan for us 4
I Cor 2:5 " ..... so that our
faith not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God".......
