Hi! Today was another good day.
He swallowed on command 8 out
of 11 ... his best yet. 
He
is doing well with pointing at the yes/no card. He told me his
shoulder and head hurt 
so the nurse gave
him some tylenol. When asked later in the day only his shoulder
hurt but it was a 1 not a 2 as previously. He shook with his
right hand....he is NOT reaching out with it people will take
it and he squeezes it. He was in the standing chair for 30 minutes
again today. Dr. Good says it still looks like the trach will
come out on Monday. 
The xrays showed
the fluid around the left lung to be the same .... no change
which he stated was good. He is moving his right leg more and
more ... lifting it to put it on his foot rest of his wheel chair,
etc. He played checkers today with the OT ... was able to sort
the colors and place his on the proper spaces and was correct
85% of th time with the game ... he doesn't like to wiat for
her to take her turn! 
The trip to the
park went well! It was a good forerunner to the Zoo tomorrow
... His PT took UNO cards 1-9 and had him put them in numerical
order which he did VERY well ... then she asked him to pick certain
numbers out of her hand and he did this VERY well ... right about
95% of the time ... he'd get the 6 and 9s mixed up .... I also
asked him this morning if his vision was blurred and he pointed
yes. So please pray that if he does have double vision, etc
that it will correct itself. Another thing his OT did today
was play 'war' with cards and Dwight knew which card was higher
and who won each set. He is more alert every day and follows
commands SO WELL .......Keep those prayers rollin' ..... May
