Tuesday morning, April 15 - around 12:45 AM (Monday late night)

Hey! GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!!!!! SO many things happened today. I'll have to just give an 'overview' or it'll overload the memory!!

We met with Dr. Berry, the Neuro-psychologist today. He asked Dwight his age, and he correctly told him. He asked him his birth DATE and he correctly told him. He asked him to write his name and he wrote "Dwight Joseph Witherington" ... COMPLETE!!! more than Dr, Berry expected. Dr. Berry told Dwight that he was getting better and would get better every day but he'd have to be patient with them. Could he be patient and Dwight replied, "I'll have to"~!!!! In OT/PT combo class they were telling him it was good to hear him talking and he goes,' It's good to be talking". He spoke with both his sister and his father on the phone!! In OT class Lisa gave him coins and he recognized them, counted out and gave her the correct amounts (for 35 cents he gave 3 dimes and a nickel ... I'd given a quarter and dime ... less to figure) ... she also gave him a flashcard that said a necklace was $3.57. HE counted out $3.57 and gave her!!! In Speech this morning he swallowed 100% of the time. If he is 100% tomorrow the barrium (sp?) swallow test will be scheduled for Wed. Then this afternoon in speech she would say UP and he would say DOWN, Boy and he'd say girl, She'd say a phrase and he'd have to put in the last word ... Roses are red, violets are ___ blue! Someone is knocking at the ___door! He was 100% on these!! Then she had him 'read' picture flashcards (broom, grapes etc.) he was 60% or better with these ... the picture of a church he called a 'cathedral'!! She was impressed with this .... (she counted it correct!) She said it is very DIFFICULT to read pictures ... she described it to us like you have all the words you know in a file drawer and someone dumps the drawer. All the words are there you just can't find them. But Dwight did EXCELLENT! (to parrot her!) She was AWED in that he began verbalizing JUST yesterday and yet in her words, "Your speaking up a storm"!!!! The best for today???!!!!!!!!!! Pat and LouAnn Morgan and kyddos were up today and Pat asked him a burning question (sorry Pat if it isn't an "exact' quote) he has had. It was "Dwight, In all that you have been through, have you been aware of Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God being right there with you the entire time?" "Yes Sir" !!!!!!!!! Dwight replied! We were visiting outside and Dwight had on his K-State ball cap and when Pat prayed with us before leaving, Dwight removed his hat!!!!!!!!!! There are more 'details' but TOO NUMEROUS to reiterate!! It is just AMAZING to say the least!!! We give God our expectations!!!! May God find us faithful!! joan for us 4
