Saturday evening, May 3 - approx 9:30 PM
Hi ... MANY apologies ... I got to the apartment last night and realized no update. When I returned to do one, BOTH computers were occupied. I was going to send one out first thing this morning and with Joe, Denise and David here I totally forgot! Here goes:
He had "two" CAT Scans yesterday. Second one the doctor wanted a different angle. Rec'd the results of the EKG and Echo. Both are in normal range. The cardiologist is a believer and prayed with Dwight and told Dwight he'd continue to pray. He will get with me Monday with regards to the result of the 24 hour monitor. He said it is good news so far and he does not feel there is any concern where the heart is concerned!! PTL!!!! Result of the CAT Scan ... all looked normal!!! PTL PTL PTL!!! No complete explanation of the pain in the right side. This morning it was only a 4 where it has been a 6 and 7!!! PRAISE GOD he GAINED five pounds this past week!!! Exercise and eating are paying off! Just 45 more to go!!! (He lost a total of 50 lbs.)!!!! Today was an OUTSTANDING day for him! He actually laughed out loud first time for his sister and then the four of us. When the Kansas "GANG" arrived, he smiled EAR TO EAR and laughed with them. He even "Kicked them out" ... they had been visiting and the four of us had gone to eat. Upon return they were leaving and said Dwight goes, "You guys need to leave" when questioned why, he wanted to go lie down and rest! No offense taken by any!!!! It did this ol' heart good to see the six as well!!! (Ed, Patrick and Audrey, Hal and Amanda, and Jeanne....) What an encouragement to see them!! We also had a 'pizza party' in the Friendship Room ... what fun! There ended up being about 17 of us! We invited two of our favorite BAs in for pizza ... Bruno was Dwight's BA (behavioral attendant) the very first day we arrived and Laura as well .... We've grown quite attached to them. Thanx so much for praying ... we KNOW you all are!
