Hello! Dwight had a good nights
sleep and was ready to get on with the day. He had a great attitude
today and did a lot of hard work! The lock belt was returned
when in his wheelchair because of his impulsiveness. It is less
yet not to the point he can be trusted completely. If he uses
the call light and no one responds IMMEDIATELY ... he begins
to do for himself ... NOT GOOD!!!! I am not transferred trained
- allowed to transfer him from the wheelchair to the bed etc.
(will be tomorrow hopefully) and therefore we must wait for a
staff member. So ... he understands that this is in his best
interest on the road to independence and is 'okay' with it for
now. "WE" are relieved to say the least!
We have been nervous since the removal as we fear another fall.
Bob, our family counsellor, is starting the ball rolling with
the Wesley Rehab (in Wichita). SURPRISED is an understatement
.... I walked into the PT room/gym
and there stood Harold and Linda [...]!!! What an ENERGIZER
for me (and Dwight!!) He recognized them and called them -to
their surpise and delight- by name!!!! It was such a pleasant
and wonderful surprise. Linda said they should've called but
I told her NO it was better this way!!!! I'm off to Patrick
and Kara's again tonight for "Monday Mexican Movie Madness"
as we have tagged it. Patrick makes the absolute BEST Mexican
food and has Jessica and me over every Monday ... we eat and
watch a movie ... a VERY relaxing and enjoyable time!!!!! They
are such FUN!!!! I love them DEARLY!!! Another 'trooper' for
me has been Miriam (Mirm) from the Wilds. She drives down (2
1/2 hrs. one way) EVERY weekend and just to visit us on Sat and
Sun. She knows not what this has meant to me!!!! She has become
SO DEAR to my heart and I love her DEARLY!!! She is SUCH an
encouragement and always bears well wishes and hugs from those
at TWR. Our prayer is that GOD will repay the three of them
above what we could imagine! They have TRUELY ministered to
us!!!! As have the cards and visits from all others!!! I MARVEL
at God's graciousness and provision through each one of you!!
We are on the downward slide to going home .... it is VERY scarey!!!!
There is a LOT (A LOT) of security in being here. The staff
is EXCELLENT and you build a trust and relationship with them
that is indescribeable!!! We'd like to bring a couple of them
home with us! We DEFINITELY will need your prayers, cards and
encouragements when home!!! It'll be a challenge and THEN we
will be given the EXTRA Grace to face those uncertain days. The
road of rehab is a lengthy one yet God will go EVERY step of
it with us. Keep those prayers a rollin'!!!! THANX! May
God find US faithful!!!! joan for us 4
1 Cor. 2:5 "so that 'our' faith should not rest
on the wisdom of men BUT on the POWER OF GOD"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
