Hi! God has SUCH a sense of humor and way in which to 'aide' me in appropriating the patience I possess (all of Christ is in all of me!!!) .... Got to Dr. Veenis's office yesterday and he had to leave unexpectedly due to the death of his father-in-law .... I sighed (seemed disrespectful but NOT intentional ....) .... I could see another HUGE delay in therapies as they knew not WHEN he'd return to the office ... BUT Dr V had arranged for his colleague to refer Dwight for evaluations AND to begin therapy .... PRAISE GOD!!!!!! Monday is the scheduled day for evals and begin therapies on Tues. We went to church Wed. pm for the first time. WHAT a time of REJOICING and hugs and tears and hugs etc etc etc ..... he did VERY well ... and was WARMLY welcomed by all!!! After his 'brief' testimony everyone clapped and there was not a dry eye in the sanctuary!!!! Visited with Dr. Farney and Dwight's left leg was 1 inch longer than his right due to his pelvis being crooked .... once straightened ... all is well and Dwight commented that it is easier to walk. Dr. Farney is also doing lazer on Dwight's trach scar and it is darkening up and is not so blood red .... all is going VERY well. He gets stronger DAILY and is ready to get on with therapy. He is determined to give it 110% and then some and wants to get stronger. Looks like we'll have to just ship the wheel chair back as we no longer need it and it is just eating up rent money ...... we aren't quite prepared to return to Denver quite this soon (and AL will be on the East coast and we WANT to see him!!!!!!!!!!!!) Do keep your prayers regular on our behalf. God is providing for needs before we know they exist (ie: someone with a cleaning business has offered to clean my house as a ministry .... pride first said no as "I" can do it ).... BUT this week of just mini-appointments has proven otherwise ..... WHEW!!!! I'm road weary already .... BUT God is FAITHFUL and extra Grace IS being given. God even looked out for us yesterday in that we were on the far west side of Wichita and all about and on the way home, (Joe is in OK mind you) my car temp went WAY over the "H" ..... I went to our mechanic only to find he has moved his business to another location .... enroute to find it, it was EXCESSIVELY hot and beginning to 'steam' from under the hood .... so ... we detoured to our old mechanic and discovered the cooling fan had broken ..... PRAISE GOD it happened where it did and NOT out west!!! (Barb Z was kind enough to 'taxi' us all the way home) .....So you see, God IS still taking care, providing for and looking out for us.
